Challenging the Inner Winner

So it started with a challenge.   One month of writing non-stop for 30 days in order to achieve the ultimate goal a 50,000 word novel in a month!   Sounds challenging right?  But I did it!

The Month of November  I sat at my computer for hours building my characters up from their toes to their head and bringing them to life.   (IT'S ALIVE . . . ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE)  My wrists ached, my fingers numb from the constant clicking . . .  and by the end of the month I had a 55,919 work in progress written and the badge to the right proving the glory that is finishing the Nanowrimo Challenge before the 30th.  Now, as April looms over me, my work has developed into a 84,000+ word count with only a few chapters left to write!

Accepting the challenge was hard . . .  committing to the challenge was even harder with my two children and no one around to give the space needed to write at a continuous pace, keeping focused was all but exhausting.  Actually finishing the challenge before the date was done . . .  PRICELESS!

So what now????

Finish the novel . . .
Hit the pavement looking for nibbles and try to get published.   (Awhhh imagine what it would be like to see your work on a Barnes and Noble bookshelf or in Amazon's Best Seller list)
Start the sequels .  . .   Yup that's right my novel is going to be a four part series!

So what other challenges are in my future????

Well I wrote a story and submitted it to the WOW writing contest.  The first time I entered I made it through to the second round but didn't place.  This time I submitted a different story that I fell in love with but have not heard anything so I wonder if it was too racy for the contest.   Even Open Prompts have their limits. Crosses fingers that this one will place . . . since they are still judging.

And of course my final challenge blog the Alphabet ...  Chronologically of course!   3 days down!  ABC!

WHAT'S FOR DINNER:    Turkey Chili and Cornbread!

KID QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Uggh  you never listen to me mommy!  (Imagine a three-year old telling you this!)

SONG OF THE DAY:

Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark
Will I ever see the ending to my story?????
