Z is for Zolt Hamiliton (Being Zolt) By Dawna Raver

But in all honesty the only reason I'm continuing the A to Z is because of this author and this book!  She deserves recognition and her book needs to be read! The Indulging series is the first erotica/NA series (Besides Fifty Shades of Grey of course) that I have ever read.

So Being Zolt is the second book in the Indulging series. It follows Irelyn a sheltered girl who has only had one boyfriend before, her brother's friend Marcus. When Irelyn was younger she was at a football game where Zolt was the star quarterback and ended up getting hurt. During that time they had a connection and it followed them all the way until she was in college. Neither one knew the other, they just both felt that initial spark.

When Zolt becomes a lawyer at her dad's law firm the chemistry flies and soon Irelyn and Zolt are having major feelings for each other. The second book picks up on the cliffhanger from the first book.  I personally love cliffhangers because it makes me want the new book immediately. Although Zolt and Irelyn are great characters I think my favorite character is Sloan, Zolt's friend and bodyguard.  Who, fortunately for me, was able to get his own book with Saving Kenna. I really connected with all the characters in the Indulging series but Sloan probably more than everyone else.  I love how Zolt's alpha male is randomly broken with his past demons. I love how the twists and turns with Marcus are approached in this book and mostly how I went "HOLY CRAP" and "YES" when certain things happened.  If you like erotica/NA and brooding male characters with a whole lot of stamina and class then the Indulging series is definitely for you!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: (taken from her website)

“Smart ass by nature, writer by accident.”
D L Raver didn’t always want to be a writer, but now the voices in her head won’t shut the f**k up and the stories keep coming.
She’s an Amazon Best Selling Author of new adult erotic romance and new adult romantic fantasy (under Dawna Raver). The Indulging Series was her first new adult erotic romance series, and is proud that Zolt Hamil from this series was voted in top ten list of Fictional Boyfriends’ top Fictional Boyfriends.
When she’s not spending time in her fantasy world, D L Raver loves NFL football, reading, and pretending she’s a top chef in the kitchen—even though experiments often lead to ordering out.
Oh, and fawning over her dogs and husband, sometimes in that order.

(On a Personal note)

Dawna is not only a great author but I have enjoyed getting to know her the last couple months. She not only writes her books but designs all of her book covers as well. I enjoy talking with her when I get the chance and love how each of her stories is full of great characters and stories that draw you in. I've gone to her for advice and every time she is full of great information for me. She's just an overall amazing person!  (Sorry this post is so late Dawna, just been super busy with kids sports and stuff! But here it is :D)

Saving Kenna is an erotic stand-alone novel with an Irish twist, a bunch of second chances, and a sweet happy ever after set in the Indulging Series world. It is not necessary to read Indulging in Irelyn or Being Zolt, but I hope you'll want to after reading Kenna & Sloan's story.

I knew from the first moment I saw her, Kenna Campbell would be my undoing. I've done my best to stay away from her, but I fail at every turn. Now, she's been taken from me, and I'll stop at nothing to get her back.

Irish born, Sloan Sullivan is a man with a past he can't escape. Everything about him, from his identity to his profession, is a lie.

Until he met Kenna, he didn't think twice about his fraudulent life. Now, his past is threatening his future and preventing him from saving the woman he loves.

I've loved Sloan from the moment I saw him. Though he pushes me away at every turn, and his alpha male tendencies frustrate me, I never leave. I always give him a second chance.

Kenna Campbell fell in love with Sloan Sullivan when she was sixteen. Throughout the years, she's stayed true to him even when it hurt her to do so.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Kenna falls prey to Marcus Xavier's evil game. Though she's physically survived the brutality she suffered at the hands of two men, her emotional and mental scars refuse to heal, and she wonders if she's broken beyond repair.

Is love enough to keep these two together, or will the monsters from both their pasts destroy them forever?

T is for That Boy by Jillian Dodd

So my 'T' post features a book that I loved the first book, disliked the second and have yet to read the third. I loved the first story but when the second came out I just didn't like the female character at all.

That Boy was one of those swoon worthy crush books that had me absolutely loving the main characters. Jadyn was a quirky, fun, cute female lead and the fact that she could handle both Phillip and Danny perfectly was a plus.  I loved how the book kept you guessing until the end which guy was going to propose to her.

At one point I was screaming for it to be Danny and the next I was Phillip all the way. It had me laughing, cheering, and smiling all the way through.  I loved the ending and how That Boy proposed. I loved the dynamic between her and Danny and the chemistry between her and Phillip. Phillip and Danny would both do anything for her.  I wish I had guy friends like that growing up that was willing to do anything to make me happy.  The first book is definitely worth reading.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.
There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He’s pretty much irresistible.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth.  Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me.  And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.

The gorgeous engagement ring on my finger mimics my happiness. I feel so sparkly, glittery, and full of promise, because I absolutely know he's that boy. The boy I want to marry. My prince. My happily ever after. But then our pastor starts asking lots of questions. His parents say I haven’t dealt with my past.  I have horrible wedding disaster dreams. I can’t find the perfect dress. I have to manipulate him to get my way. An old boyfriend asks me to run away with him. My best friend says I'm going to ruin everything. And forever starts to sound like a really long time. Which totally freaks me out and makes me question everything I know. Should best friends get married?  Will my past affect our relationship? Are my horrible dreams a warning? Will I ever find a dress? Could his sexiness be clouding my judgment? Am I going to ruin everything? Or is it just a case of cold feet? And then I have to decide. Am I willing to give up on true love forever, or am I going to listen to my heart and marry him?

S is for Scoring Wilder by R.S. Grey

My 'S' book is by an author I just recently found and OMG I am so glad I did. R.S. Grey is a book genius.  Her books have me rolling on the ground laughing so hard my husband looks at me like I'm crazy. This was the book that got me turned on to her books, Liam Wilder is probably one of my first book boyfriends and I am so looking forward to meeting her THIS SATURDAY!!!! She's so signing my books :D

Kinsley likes a challenge.  So when her soccer coach ends up being the hot but unattainable Liam Wilder she's ready for the challenge. Kinsley does her best to tempt Liam and though he tries his best to not fall for her it's unavoidable.

Kinsley and Liam have a secret affair, one they have to keep from everyone otherwise it could ruin Kinsley's soccer career.  Soon their relationship ends up being too hard to keep a secret and their affair is made known to everyone by a stupid girl whose jealous of their relationship.

I love Kinsley's seduction of Liam.  I love how Liam does his best to deflect her but can't deny the passion they feel for each other.  I just basically love this book!  If you want some hysterical reads pick up Grey's Heart series! It's amazing.

About the Author: (Taken from her Amazon Page)

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, metaphors and similes, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

(On a Personal Note)

The few times I have been able to talk to R.S. she's been super nice and sweet!  I really enjoy her books and just getting to know her. I simply can't wait to meet her.

What started out as a joke-- seduce Coach Wilder--soon became a goal she had to score.

With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He's a professional soccer player, America's favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.

* A face that makes girls weep - check.
* Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) - check.
* Enough confidence to shift the earth's gravitational pull - double check.

Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits. Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. "Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you'll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.") But that just makes him all the more enticing...Besides, Kinsley's already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.

Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term "team bonding."

R is for Ryan Hunter by Anna Katmore

So my 'R' book is actually a sequel, well, more like the same book told from the guy's POV. Did I mention how much I love books that are told from a Male POV, it's so nice to hear the guy's prospective. Duals are probably my favorite type of story though.

Ryan has been in love with Liza for as long as he can remember unfortunately she has it bad for his and her best friend Tony.  After Tony returns from a soccer camp he ends up with a girlfriend and in a jealous rage Liza ends up joining Ryan's co-ed soccer team in an attempt to get closer to Tony and steal him away from his girlfriend.

Ryan planned this all along just to get close to her and though he has a history of being somewhat of a player he ends up proving to Liza that he really cares for her.

What happens though when Tony decides he's not happy with her sudden relationship with Ryan, can their friendships survive all the hardships it's suddenly put through.  Or is one girl enough to ruin his friendship with Tony forever.

I really like Ryan.  I thought he was a sweet and upstanding guy. I read Play With Me first so it was really nice reading the book from his point of view instead of Liza's. It's all around just a cute and fun read and I really enjoyed it.

About the Author: (Taken from her Facebook Page)

The quick-and-dirty:

I’m a girl with a passion for writing.

The genres you’ll find me hanging out at are contemporary and paranormal
YA, but I’m also snooping into some adult paranormal right now. All of them romances…of course.

The nitty-gritty:

I’m an Austrian lass—totally uncomplicated and up to anything fun.
I grew up in Vienna, not by free will but because my parents decided to move there when I was only 4 years old. I. Hated. The. City. Everything about it. So right after graduation I moved back to Upper Austria, where I settled down with a nice husband and an awesome laptop.

I’ve been a storyteller all my life. Already in kindergarten, I came up with the most exotic fantasies and tales. My teacher would call me a liar. I call it the cornerstone of my writing career.

People always told me you can’t make a living with being an author. So when my first novella PLAY WITH ME came out and shot straight to the stars within the first week, I was totally dumbstruck. Took me a while to realize what was happening, LOL.

And the personal stuff:

At the (awesome) age of seventeen, I met the love of my life. But he was a playboy, and I was so not going to be his next trophy. It took him another four years of fighting for me until I finally decided to give that “couple-thing” with him a shot. I’m now married to this man. ;-)

We have an eleven-year-old son, and together we travel a lot…although I sometimes wish the trips were shorter because I can’t wait to get back to my laptop and my many stories. Unless we’re in Disneyland. No stress to go home then…

Ryan Hunter’s parties are legend. And tonight she’s going to be there.

Lisa Matthews has been in love with her best friend since kindergarten. They’re close as can be, they’ve even slept in each other’s bed. But they’ve never kissed. Weeks away from her seventeenth birthday, Lisa hopes that soon things will change between them. But when Tony comes home after summer soccer camp, his mind is focused on someone else. And worse, that new girl is a soccer player.

Fighting for her love, Lisa gets carried away and makes a stupid decision: Without the least bit of talent or any passion for the sport whatsoever, she goes for the co-ed soccer team.

The tryouts are hell, the first match ends bloody, and the morning after the selection party she wakes up in the worst place possible—in the arms of the captain of the soccer team. The hottest guy in school. Ryan Hunter.

She didn’t look my way. Never had. And why would she? Her universe was rotating around my soccer buddy, Tony Mitchell. As long as I had known Tony, he’d always come in a double pack. He and Liza were what some people at school called M&M. I hated that term. Hated how she stood on her tiptoes now and slung her arms around his neck. Hated how— Dammit! Was she going to kiss him?! Ryan Hunter kissed more girls than he cares to remember. But the only one he ever wanted is in love with his best friend. Watching Liza Matthews’ obsession with Tony Mitchell is a torture Ryan conceals from everyone. Until after a five-week soccer camp, where Tony gets involved with someone else, things suddenly take a different turn. Ryan knows if he doesn’t make a move now and grab his chance, he might never get another. When Tony asks him to distract Liza, Ryan is only too happy. He subtly seduces her first into his soccer team and later on to his party. He does all in his power to make her see that he’s not just an insufferable playboy but a guy who cares about her. Some one-on-one soccer training, a passionate kiss—everything seems to be going the way he wants. Except Ryan didn’t reckon on his best friend showing up at the worst possible moment and destroying everything… This book can be read as a stand-alone, but to fully enjoy it, you should read its companion book PLAY WITH ME first.

Q is for Quake by Lisa Arrington

My Q post features a science fiction book about an alien encounter that results from a massive earthquake. I don't usually read science fiction so I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

Ali and Caden are brother and sister. They grew up in a small town with their mother and never knew who their father was. When a large earthquake shakes the campsite they are staying in, their world suddenly dissolves.

Friends are starting to act weird, people are dying, and it all centralizes around the massive crater opened up by the earthquake. Not knowing what to do Ali and Caden try to do their best to keep their friends alive during this time. When the people they love the most turns on them, Ali and Caden find out that they are the key to why aliens have suddenly taken over their town and it will take a miracle to get out of their town alive.

I enjoyed this book and the characters. I thought the drama was there, the action as well as a great story plot. I think there were parts that could have been elaborated on and maybe edited a little better but that didn't turn me off from the book.  I haven't had a chance to read the sequel yet but I am looking forward to continuing my journey with Ali and Caden in the next book Aftershock.

About the Author: (Taken from Facebook)

Hi there! My name is Lisa and I am a Mother, Information Technology Technical Associate (say that five times fast), Avid Reader and now Writer.

Ever since I started elementary school, I have been writing. Poems, short stories, jokes (okay, no...they were NOT remotely funny), I even helped create the school's fight song 'The Brichta Rap'.

Going into Middle School and High School I continued with writing and was surprised when I shocked my teachers with my mad writing skillz. A few encouraged me to enter competitions and I did. I usually ended up getting honorable mentions, but once I did win! The prize was $7.00, I kid you not.

After High School, I got out of writing, focusing on Computer Science and supporting myself and a child, who luckily, LOVED when I made up stories with him as the star.

I tried married life (twice) and apparently suck at it. I live in Tucson with my two boys who are the reason that I get up every morning and do what I do. I love the color blue, watching old shows like Golden Girls and Murder, She Wrote. If you want to make me smile, a box of Junior Mints will do the trick or a big bowl of butter pecan ice cream.

P is for Prick by Sabrina Paige

So I am really behind in my blog entries this is due to the fact that the hotel I was staying at decided to be internet-hoarders and was going to charge me $7.00 a day to use it.  Thus, I chose not to purchase it and get my $ 200.00 deposit for the room back. Yeah, call me a penny-pincher all you want but I need that money.  So I guess that means I failed A to Z but there are still a lot of books I need to discuss so I'm going to keep going.

My 'P' post features an adult erotica step-brother romance.  I didn't think I would enjoy step-brother books but this one definitely captured my interest.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Katherine and Caulter. I can imagine the strain she went through knowing that the guy who took her virginity was now going to be her brother. That has to be mortifying.

I liked Katherine's wit and the way she handled Caulter's machismo. Caulter was just swoon worthy. His foul mouth, sexy good looks and just all around swoon worthy presence. I soaked up every page.

It took them awhile to get together but in the end I loved how they came together. It's a great Erotica book with quirky characters, witty conversations and definite chemistry.

I can't stop thinking about that prick.
Caulter Sterling is a prick.
A filthy-mouthed, womanizing, crude, spoiled, arrogant prick.
The tattooed, pierced, panty-melting-hot son of a celebrity.
I hate him.
He's slept his way through practically every girl at Brighton Academy.
Except for me.
I'm the good girl. The responsible girl. The 4.0, class president, studied-so-much-she-never-lost-the-big-V girl.
And in celebration of graduation and adulthood, I just made the worst decision in the history of ever.
I lost my V-card to the devil himself.
It was just one night. So what if it was mind-blowing? Hit it and quit it.
Except I just found out that my father - the Senator, the Presidential hopeful - is marrying Caulter's mother. Oh, and this summer? We're hitting the campaign trail.
One big happy family.
I'm totally f**ked.

This is a standalone novel with an HEA.

O is for Opposing Sides by CM Doporto

My 'O' post is a day late. I've been packing for a week trip in Vegas and it's been long days.  Anyways this author definitely deserves recognition, I'm absolutely in love with her University Park series, and The Raven.  She's also one of the nicest people I've gotten to know and I can't wait to meet her in less than two weeks at the Hard Rock Author Event in Tulsa Oklahoma!

Opposing Sides by CM Doporto is the first installment in the University park series. I absolutely devoured this series and fell in love with the characters of her books. Lexi Thompson is a college senior that is engaged to the hottest guy of her university's college baseball team, Collin. Lexi thinks everything is good, but she's missing the spark a relationship should have. Romance, sex, Collin doesn't give her either of things needed to keep their relationship together.  When Lexi is forced to tutor the star quarterback of the football team Raven Davenport. Raven is known to be a ladies man and Lexi is instantly starting to fall into the "Raven's Trap" as the other women on campus call it.  Lexi wants things to change in her relationship with Collin, she wants to feel the spark that Raven seems to ignite every time he's near her.  Collin is more reserved and not interested in making love until they say "I do".  The more Lexi is denied the more she falls into the Raven's Trap and suddenly she realizes that maybe what she wants isn't what she always thought for herself, it's the boy who makes her heart race and her body ignite.  Raven.  Words can't describe how much I love this book. Lexi is an amazing strong character, I actually sort of rooted for Collin throughout the whole book hoping he would wake his ass up and fight for her, but after awhile I too fell into the "Raven's trap".

About the Author: (taken from her website)

CM Doporto is a native Texan and resides there with her husband and son enjoying life with their extensive family along with their Chihuahua, Mexican Redhead Parrot and several fish.
CM earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Arlington. She briefly worked in the area of Public Relations and Advertising and then pursued a career in the field of Human Resources. CM considers herself a life-long learner and returned to school and earned her Master of Art’s Degree in Organizational Development from Dallas Baptist University.
CM’s hobbies include interior decorating, fresh flower design, costume sewing and working out. CM’s passion for learning is evident through her vast library collection of non-fiction books. It was after several life-changing experiences that she woke up and decided it was time to ‘smell the roses’ and started enjoying fiction books. It was through various revelations that she discovered her love for writing and started on her new writing journey.
Although CM can’t honestly say that she loved to curl up with a book, because of her association with learning and reading, she did come to discover a whole new world in fiction writing. It was mainly her late father’s influence of sharing his passion of Star Wars, Star Trek and Superman movies with her throughout her life, that sparked her calling for writing in the Science Fiction/Urban Fantasy Genre. Couple that Science Fiction passion and a romantic at heart and boom, you get CM’s stories about ordinary females who do extraordinary things and become a heroine and find love along the way.
CM is a member of Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and Romance Writers of America and is associated with the Young Adult Special Interest Chapter.

On a Personal Note:

CM is another author that I look up to. She and I have had some really great chats over that last couple months and I am so humbled to consider her a friend.  Anytime I need advice she is there, anytime I need help she offers it. I hate being that person that constantly annoys people, but sometimes you can't help yourself when you make a friend like Christi, hopefully I don't annoy her too much.  Ha Ha.  I love her writing, her characters, and her books. She writes Sci-fi as well and those books are equally as enjoyable as the University Park series. More than anything I just like her, she's funny and sweet and a all around awesome person.

N is for (Never) Again by Teresa Paolo

My 'N' post features another one of my favorite authors! She's also one of the nicest people I've met through Author hopping, Facebook- semi stalking (not in a creeper way) Looking up to kind of way :D

(Never) Again by Theresa Paolo is the first book in the Again series.
What do you do when the boy who broke your heart suddenly returns again?  This is what Liz asked herself when her ex-boyfriend Zach Roberts showed up in her life. Suddenly the boy that she finally was getting over is breaking her heart again.

You hear about Book Boyfriends . . . I wondered what they are when I first heard about them. How do you have a boyfriend that's in a book?  Well now I know because if there ever was a book boyfriend material it's Zach.

This is one of my favorites. I loved the passion between Liz and Zach and I loved how no matter what he was always there for her even when she didn't want him to be.  The book actually has a sequel that follows Liz's brother through his love journey and that book I really enjoyed as well! It was hard to get past Zach though, he is just the kind of guy who can't stop thinking about. If you like a good romance story, with a sexy leading man, and strong female then definitely take the time to read the Again series.

About the Author: (Taken from her Facebook Page)

Theresa Paolo lives in the same town she grew up in on Long Island, NY with her boyfriend and Milton, their big eyed goldfish. She has a hard time accepting the fact she’s nearing thirty which is why she writes New Adult and Young Adult books, reliving the best and worst years of her life through her characters. She put her love of writing on hold while she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Dowling College. When she’s not writing, she’s behind a camera or can be found in the blogosphere or on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.
On a Personal Note:  Theresa is another author that I really look up to. She like me is new to the world of Indie publishing and is getting her work out there. Any time I need advice she's there, anytime I have a question she will always give me an honest answer. She's funny and friendly and I've really enjoyed getting to know her. I hope that once I start publishing some of my work I can be half as talented as she is when it comes to writing.  Her characters have so much depth and you really invest in their stories. She's great at setting up the scene and creating a world you want to live in!
Just when she had finally moved on…

…He moved back.
When college freshman Liz Wagner hears her ex's voice for the first time since he moved clear across the freaking country, she does what any respectable girl would do: Dive into the girls' bathroom.

Zach Roberts—the Zach Roberts—is back. And he’s everywhere Liz looks—infiltrating her friend group, buddy-buddy with her brother. It’s enough to ruin college altogether. But what choice does she have but to put on a happy face and pretend he didn't leave her vulnerable and alone in a pile of emotional wreckage?

Pretending works, until tragedy strikes and the only person available for comfort is the one person she wants to stay away from. When Zach turns out not to be the jerk she convinced herself he was, but the boy she used to love, Liz needs to decide whether to open her heart again to the boy who tore it out.

M is for Moonless by Crystal Collier

So my 'M' post is a book I have been wanting to read but after reading it was kind of let down.  I think because for one I don't read a lot of fantasy/sci-fi books, and two it was rather confusing. (At least for me.) She claims it's Jane Eyre meets Supernatural.

Moonless by Crystal Collier is a fantasy sci-fi book that follows Alexia a young sixteen year old girl who starts to go through some changes. Overnight Alexia wakes up and is suddenly beautiful. As we follow her journey she starts to see things, a strange girl who is going around killing people, a handsome man that seems to be the bringer of death, and shadowy red eyed figures that are called the Soulless.

So for one you find out that Alexia is what's called a 'Passionate' a super human race that is more beautiful and loves harder than regular human beings. First of all... passionate.... really?  It doesn't sound like the name of a super human race I bet there is a better word out there. Two Alexia immediately falls in love with Kieran the guy she thinks is killing everyone. She's sixteen and ready to give up her entire body and soul to a man she just seems drawn to. It was hard for me to get though it. I guess because I was left scratching my head throughout the whole book. Some parts were pretty exciting but most of the time I was sort of just confused.  I think this book with a little more tweaking could be wonderful. I really did like Kieran's character, but I am partial to ginger type love interests.

MOONLESS is Jayne Eyre meets Supernatural!

In the English society of 1768 where women are bred to marry, unattractive Alexia, just sixteen, believes she will end up alone. But on the county doorstep of a neighbor’s estate, she meets a man straight out of her nightmares, one whose blue eyes threaten to consume her whole world—especially later when she discovers him standing over her murdered host in the middle of the night.

Among the many things to change for her that evening are: her physical appearance—from ghastly to breathtaking, an epidemic of night terrors predicting the future, and the blue-eyed man’s unexpected infusion into her life. Not only do his appearances precede tragedies, but they’re echoed by the arrival of ravenous, black-robed wraiths on moonless nights.

Unable to decide whether he is one of these monsters or protecting her from them, she uncovers what her father has been concealing: truths about her own identity, about the blue-eyed man, and about love. After an attack close to home, Alexia realizes she cannot keep one foot in her old life and one in this new world. To protect her family she must either be sold into a loveless marriage, or escape with the man of her dreams and risk becoming one of the Soulless.
If you’re looking for a young adult, historical, paranormal romance or all of the above involving fantasy, action, adventure, mystery, things that go bump in the night, time travel, blued eyed hunks, super powers, and creepy children (…sorry no kitchen sink), AND if you love books by Cassandra Claire, Stephanie Myers, Charlotte Bronte, Dean Koontz, or Jack the Ripper, this is the book for you!

L is for Landslide by Jenn Cooksey

So my 'L' post is about a book that was good but I didn't find it great.

Landslide by Jenn Cooksey is about a girl named Erica whose life was forever changed by a boy she grew up with named Cole and his best friend Holden. Growing up Cole and Erica were very close. Out of every girl in his life she meant the most to him. When Erica begins dating Holden, Cole puts his feelings on the back burner but continues to be her best friend. When a tragic accident brings them closer together, not only does Cole have to reevaluate his feelings for Erica, but she has to reevaluate her feelings for Cole.

So I liked the book. I had a couple problems with it though.  One I hated how Erica treated Cole. She wasn't fair to him at all. There were a couple times in the book I wanted to slap her. I loved Cole, I liked his aloofness and the fact that he was so hot that people thought he was gay just because he never had a girlfriend.

I loved the ending! It was a great twist I didn't see coming.  I love when books have those kind of endings.  The writing was good, a little too much in some places with inner monologues and descriptions. But other than that I liked it.

For Erica and Cole, the bond of friendship was forged in childhood.

Now, torn and broken by grief, that bond will become paramount as two friends look to one another for comfort, strength, and hope in the aftermath of loss. On a journey taken both together and alone, Erica and Cole search for healing and life born anew. Although when mistakes, secrets and betrayal are revealed, the two must each learn to accept that even saints and some angels are human and people aren’t always who they appear to be.

But in the age old struggle to forget and forgive, realization dawns. And with it, so does the understanding that sometimes, the sturdiest foundation for the future lies buried in the dust of the past. Because, for some people…

…love is friendship caught on fire.

K is for King-Sized Beds and Happy trails By Becca Ann and Tessa Marie

So my 'K' book choice is a collaboration from two of my favorite authors.  One who I already featured and one that is coming up soon . . .  Becca Ann (Cassie Mae) and Tessa Marie (Theresa Paolo) .  It's also the first book in a really great series.

King Sized Beds and Happy Trails follows two best friends, Ryan and Lexie who have been friends most of their lives. Lexie comes from a broken home, with an alcoholic mother that is labeled the town drunk. Her only outlet is Ryan, her best friend, her confidant, the one she cares about the most. Lexie is saving up to go to college, so when a senior class trip comes up and she can't come up with the money to go, Ryan ends up paying for her.  He secretly has feelings for her that are more than just friends. Lexie wants to go to try and win the heart of Sean Dixon a senior she has the hots for. When Ryan and Lexie end up being thrown into a room together with just a king size bed to share, things start to get a little awkward.

I really loved this book. Lexie is a strong, yet an emotionally broken character that you just want to fix. Ryan is that best friend you've always wanted. The guy who has your back no matter what, the guy that even though he's a vegetarian will always order your burger and bring it to you. Together they have a really cute and adorable friendship. Throw in Kaylee and Nate and you got a hilarious foursome that you can't help loving.

About the Authors: Since each have their own personal sites and such and I have already featured them/or will be, I will just have to make stuff up . . . Becca Ann and Tessa Marie are notorious outlaws, wanted in fifty states and numerous foreign countries for theft and kidnapping. They've stolen their readers hearts, they've captured their readers attentions and held them hostage with amazing stories that keep you rooted in place. Seriously I've never been more happy to be kidnapped in all my life. (Though I really wish they would loosen the duct tape it's starting to itch.) Please check out my 'H' post for more on Becca Ann (Cassie Mae) and my upcoming 'N' post for Tessa Marie, (Theresa Paolo)

Kaylee Sperling is a social butterfly with a million acquaintances, but no real close friends. The closest thing she has is her pet gerbil, Mr. Pippi, and 150 notes from a random classmate who won’t reveal who he is. But she’s crossing her fingers it’s the self-proclaimed magician and total hottie, Nate Hatfield.
Nate needs an assistant for the upcoming talent show. When he spots Kaylee folding herself in half during gym class stretches, he nervously asks for help with his magic act. But after a disappearing mishap, resulting in an accident with one of Kaylee’s only friends, Mr. Pippi, Nate must figure out how not only to keep his assistant, but someone who’s come to mean much more to him than his illusions.

Lexie Boggs needs out of her house… away from her alcoholic mother and far away from the “white trash” label that’s been smacked across her chest. She’s saved every penny from her multiple jobs so she can dart out of there as soon as she graduates. But there's something else she wants so badly she's willing to spend every dime she has. Her senior class trip and the chance to seduce the senior hottie, Sean Dixon.

Ryan Parker knows how much college means to his best friend, Lexie. He also knows Sean is a player on a search for how many girls he can get in his bed. So instead of letting Lexie drain out her piggy bank, he forks out the dough to get her on the senior ski trip. Not only because she’s his best friend, but because he’s face-planted in love with her.

When Ryan and Lexie get jammed in the same cabin, with one king-sized bed and a whole lot of history, Ryan fights to keep his feelings hidden, while Lexie discovers some of hers.
