Z is for Zolt Hamiliton (Being Zolt) By Dawna Raver

YES SOOOO LATE!  

But in all honesty the only reason I'm continuing the A to Z is because of this author and this book!  She deserves recognition and her book needs to be read! The Indulging series is the first erotica/NA series (Besides Fifty Shades of Grey of course) that I have ever read.

So Being Zolt is the second book in the Indulging series. It follows Irelyn a sheltered girl who has only had one boyfriend before, her brother's friend Marcus. When Irelyn was younger she was at a football game where Zolt was the star quarterback and ended up getting hurt. During that time they had a connection and it followed them all the way until she was in college. Neither one knew the other, they just both felt that initial spark.

When Zolt becomes a lawyer at her dad's law firm the chemistry flies and soon Irelyn and Zolt are having major feelings for each other. The second book picks up on the cliffhanger from the first book.  I personally love cliffhangers because it makes me want the new book immediately. Although Zolt and Irelyn are great characters I think my favorite character is Sloan, Zolt's friend and bodyguard.  Who, fortunately for me, was able to get his own book with Saving Kenna. I really connected with all the characters in the Indulging series but Sloan probably more than everyone else.  I love how Zolt's alpha male is randomly broken with his past demons. I love how the twists and turns with Marcus are approached in this book and mostly how I went "HOLY CRAP" and "YES" when certain things happened.  If you like erotica/NA and brooding male characters with a whole lot of stamina and class then the Indulging series is definitely for you!

T is for That Boy by Jillian Dodd

So my 'T' post features a book that I loved the first book, disliked the second and have yet to read the third. I loved the first story but when the second came out I just didn't like the female character at all.

That Boy was one of those swoon worthy crush books that had me absolutely loving the main characters. Jadyn was a quirky, fun, cute female lead and the fact that she could handle both Phillip and Danny perfectly was a plus.  I loved how the book kept you guessing until the end which guy was going to propose to her.

At one point I was screaming for it to be Danny and the next I was Phillip all the way. It had me laughing, cheering, and smiling all the way through.  I loved the ending and how That Boy proposed. I loved the dynamic between her and Danny and the chemistry between her and Phillip. Phillip and Danny would both do anything for her.  I wish I had guy friends like that growing up that was willing to do anything to make me happy.  The first book is definitely worth reading.

My 'S' book is by an author I just recently found and OMG I am so glad I did. R.S. Grey is a book genius.  Her books have me rolling on the ground laughing so hard my husband looks at me like I'm crazy. This was the book that got me turned on to her books, Liam Wilder is probably one of my first book boyfriends and I am so looking forward to meeting her THIS SATURDAY!!!! She's so signing my books :D

Kinsley likes a challenge.  So when her soccer coach ends up being the hot but unattainable Liam Wilder she's ready for the challenge. Kinsley does her best to tempt Liam and though he tries his best to not fall for her it's unavoidable.

R is for Ryan Hunter by Anna Katmore

So my 'R' book is actually a sequel, well, more like the same book told from the guy's POV. Did I mention how much I love books that are told from a Male POV, it's so nice to hear the guy's prospective. Duals are probably my favorite type of story though.

Ryan has been in love with Liza for as long as he can remember unfortunately she has it bad for his and her best friend Tony.  After Tony returns from a soccer camp he ends up with a girlfriend and in a jealous rage Liza ends up joining Ryan's co-ed soccer team in an attempt to get closer to Tony and steal him away from his girlfriend.

Ryan planned this all along just to get close to her and though he has a history of being somewhat of a player he ends up proving to Liza that he really cares for her.

What happens though when Tony decides he's not happy with her sudden relationship with Ryan, can their friendships survive all the hardships it's suddenly put through.  Or is one girl enough to ruin his friendship with Tony forever.

I really like Ryan.  I thought he was a sweet and upstanding guy. I read Play With Me first so it was really nice reading the book from his point of view instead of Liza's. It's all around just a cute and fun read and I really enjoyed it.

Q is for Quake by Lisa Arrington

My Q post features a science fiction book about an alien encounter that results from a massive earthquake. I don't usually read science fiction so I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

Ali and Caden are brother and sister. They grew up in a small town with their mother and never knew who their father was. When a large earthquake shakes the campsite they are staying in, their world suddenly dissolves. 

Friends are starting to act weird, people are dying, and it all centralizes around the massive crater opened up by the earthquake. Not knowing what to do Ali and Caden try to do their best to keep their friends alive during this time. When the people they love the most turns on them, Ali and Caden find out that they are the key to why aliens have suddenly taken over their town and it will take a miracle to get out of their town alive.

I enjoyed this book and the characters. I thought the drama was there, the action as well as a great story plot. I think there were parts that could have been elaborated on and maybe edited a little better but that didn't turn me off from the book.  I haven't had a chance to read the sequel yet but I am looking forward to continuing my journey with Ali and Caden in the next book Aftershock.

So I am really behind in my blog entries this is due to the fact that the hotel I was staying at decided to be internet-hoarders and was going to charge me $7.00 a day to use it.  Thus, I chose not to purchase it and get my $ 200.00 deposit for the room back. Yeah, call me a penny-pincher all you want but I need that money.  So I guess that means I failed A to Z but there are still a lot of books I need to discuss so I'm going to keep going.

My 'P' post features an adult erotica step-brother romance.  I didn't think I would enjoy step-brother books but this one definitely captured my interest.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Katherine and Caulter. I can imagine the strain she went through knowing that the guy who took her virginity was now going to be her brother. That has to be mortifying.

I liked Katherine's wit and the way she handled Caulter's machismo. Caulter was just swoon worthy. His foul mouth, sexy good looks and just all around swoon worthy presence. I soaked up every page.

It took them awhile to get together but in the end I loved how they came together. It's a great Erotica book with quirky characters, witty conversations and definite chemistry.

My 'O' post is a day late. I've been packing for a week trip in Vegas and it's been long days.  Anyways this author definitely deserves recognition, I'm absolutely in love with her University Park series, and The Raven.  She's also one of the nicest people I've gotten to know and I can't wait to meet her in less than two weeks at the Hard Rock Author Event in Tulsa Oklahoma!

Opposing Sides by CM Doporto is the first installment in the University park series. I absolutely devoured this series and fell in love with the characters of her books. Raven is known to be a ladies man and Lexi is instantly starting to fall into the "Raven's Trap" as the other women on campus call it.  Lexi wants things to change in her relationship with Collin, she wants to feel the spark that Raven seems to ignite every time he's near her.  Collin is more reserved and not interested in making love until they say "I do".  The more Lexi is denied the more she falls into the Raven's Trap and suddenly she realizes that maybe what she wants isn't what she always thought for herself, it's the boy who makes her heart race and her body ignite.  Raven.  Words can't describe how much I love this book. Lexi is an amazing strong character, I actually sort of rooted for Collin throughout the whole book hoping he would wake his ass up and fight for her, but after awhile I too fell into the "Raven's trap".

On a Personal Note:

CM is another author that I look up to. She and I have had some really great chats over that last couple months and I am so humbled to consider her a friend.  Anytime I need advice she is there, anytime I need help she offers it. I hate being that person that constantly annoys people, but sometimes you can't help yourself when you make a friend like Christi, hopefully I don't annoy her too much.  Ha Ha.  I love her writing, her characters, and her books. She writes Sci-fi as well and those books are equally as enjoyable as the University Park series. More than anything I just like her, she's funny and sweet and a all around awesome person.

My 'N' post features another one of my favorite authors! She's also one of the nicest people I've met through Author hopping, Facebook- semi stalking (not in a creeper way) Looking up to kind of way :D 

(Never) Again by Theresa Paolo is the first book in the Again series. 
What do you do when the boy who broke your heart suddenly returns again?  This is what Liz asked herself when her ex-boyfriend Zach Roberts showed up in her life. Suddenly the boy that she finally was getting over is breaking her heart again. 

You hear about Book Boyfriends . . . I wondered what they are when I first heard about them. How do you have a boyfriend that's in a book?  Well now I know because if there ever was a book boyfriend material it's Zach. 

This is one of my favorites. I loved the passion between Liz and Zach and I loved how no matter what he was always there for her even when she didn't want him to be.  The book actually has a sequel that follows Liz's brother through his love journey and that book I really enjoyed as well! It was hard to get past Zach though, he is just the kind of guy who can't stop thinking about. If you like a good romance story, with a sexy leading man, and strong female then definitely take the time to read the Again series.

M is for Moonless by Crystal Collier

So my 'M' post is a book I have been wanting to read but after reading it was kind of let down.  I think because for one I don't read a lot of fantasy/sci-fi books, and two it was rather confusing. (At least for me.) She claims it's Jane Eyre meets Supernatural.

Moonless by Crystal Collier is a fantasy sci-fi book that follows Alexia a young sixteen year old girl who starts to go through some changes. Overnight Alexia wakes up and is suddenly beautiful. As we follow her journey she starts to see things, a strange girl who is going around killing people, a handsome man that seems to be the bringer of death, and shadowy red eyed figures that are called the Soulless.

So for one you find out that Alexia is what's called a 'Passionate' a super human race that is more beautiful and loves harder than regular human beings. First of all... passionate.... really?  It doesn't sound like the name of a super human race I bet there is a better word out there. Two Alexia immediately falls in love with Kieran the guy she thinks is killing everyone. She's sixteen and ready to give up her entire body and soul to a man she just seems drawn to. It was hard for me to get though it. I guess because I was left scratching my head throughout the whole book. Some parts were pretty exciting but most of the time I was sort of just confused.  I think this book with a little more tweaking could be wonderful. I really did like Kieran's character, but I am partial to ginger type love interests.

L is for Landslide by Jenn Cooksey

So my 'L' post is about a book that was good but I didn't find it great.

Landslide by Jenn Cooksey is about a girl named Erica whose life was forever changed by a boy she grew up with named Cole and his best friend Holden. Growing up Cole and Erica were very close. Out of every girl in his life she meant the most to him. When Erica begins dating Holden, Cole puts his feelings on the back burner but continues to be her best friend. When a tragic accident brings them closer together, not only does Cole have to reevaluate his feelings for Erica, but she has to reevaluate her feelings for Cole.

So I liked the book. I had a couple problems with it though.  One I hated how Erica treated Cole. She wasn't fair to him at all. There were a couple times in the book I wanted to slap her. I loved Cole, I liked his aloofness and the fact that he was so hot that people thought he was gay just because he never had a girlfriend.

I loved the ending! It was a great twist I didn't see coming.  I love when books have those kind of endings.  The writing was good, a little too much in some places with inner monologues and descriptions. But other than that I liked it.

For Erica and Cole, the bond of friendship was forged in childhood.

Now, torn and broken by grief, that bond will become paramount as two friends look to one another for comfort, strength, and hope in the aftermath of loss. On a journey taken both together and alone, Erica and Cole search for healing and life born anew. Although when mistakes, secrets and betrayal are revealed, the two must each learn to accept that even saints and some angels are human and people aren’t always who they appear to be.

But in the age old struggle to forget and forgive, realization dawns. And with it, so does the understanding that sometimes, the sturdiest foundation for the future lies buried in the dust of the past. Because, for some people…

So my 'K' book choice is a collaboration from two of my favorite authors.  One who I already featured and one that is coming up soon . . .  Becca Ann (Cassie Mae) and Tessa Marie (Theresa Paolo) .  It's also the first book in a really great series.

King Sized Beds and Happy Trails follows two best friends, Ryan and Lexie who have been friends most of their lives. Lexie comes from a broken home, with an alcoholic mother that is labeled the town drunk. Her only outlet is Ryan, her best friend, her confidant, the one she cares about the most. Lexie is saving up to go to college, so when a senior class trip comes up and she can't come up with the money to go, Ryan ends up paying for her.  He secretly has feelings for her that are more than just friends. Lexie wants to go to try and win the heart of Sean Dixon a senior she has the hots for. When Ryan and Lexie end up being thrown into a room together with just a king size bed to share, things start to get a little awkward.

I really loved this book. Lexie is a strong, yet an emotionally broken character that you just want to fix. Ryan is that best friend you've always wanted. The guy who has your back no matter what, the guy that even though he's a vegetarian will always order your burger and bring it to you. Together they have a really cute and adorable friendship. Throw in Kaylee and Nate and you got a hilarious foursome that you can't help loving.

Becca Ann and Tessa Marie are notorious outlaws, wanted in fifty states and numerous foreign countries for theft and kidnapping.
